The medium height crown is cylindrical in shape, and is indented at the top. The downturned brim is short at the front, but it extends at the back, providing an elongated cap to hold the hat in place along with the elastic band attached to the inside of the hat. There is a band of black velour around the crown, which ends in a bow at the front. The front of the crown also has a larger felt bow with gold colored studs strategically placed. There are also 3 studs on the front brim. A stunning look! Tilt hats were popular in the 1930s and 1940s. They were worn at an angle and held to the back of the head by a strap, rigid ring, elastic band beneath the hair, an extended cap, or a combination of these.
